Good Results in Chemistry Laboratory Skills Competition achieved by students from our school

The 8th Hubei Province General Higher Education University Student Chemistry Experimental Skills Competition, organised by the Hubei Provincial Department of Education, was held at Central China Normal University from 15 to 17 October 2021, during which our university performed well in. Meanwhile all the contestants were awarded with prizes including three first prizes, one second prize and two third prizes, ranking first among the participating universities in the Hubei Province!

“The Hubei Province General Higher Education University Student Chemistry Experimental Skills Competition”, organised by the Hubei Provincial Department of Education, co-organized by the Joint Association of Experimental Chemistry Teaching Demonstration Centres in Higher Education Institutions in Hubei Province, aims at further strengthening the practical teaching in colleges and universities, promoting the reform of higher education talent training mode and chemistry experimental teaching in colleges and universities in our province and the innovation of chemistry experimental teaching contents, methods and means. It will also demonstrate the achievements of the construction of chemistry experimental teaching demonstration centre and chemistry experimental teaching reform in colleges and universities in our province and strengthen the cultivation of practical ability and innovation ability of college students.

153 players from 31 universities in Hubei province participated in the competition, and finally our students Mao Fan, Li Yifan and Zhang Yufei won the first prize, Zhou Hang won the second prize and Chen Dongdong, Yu Yanzi won the third prize.

The School has always attached great importance to the development of academic competitions for university students. In recent years, our school has actively carried out various academic lectures and competition counselling work, actively promoted the construction of an excellent academic style, and strived to improve the innovation and practical ability of students. In preparation for the competition, we organised intensive one-month training for the contestants in the basics of chemistry experiments, basic skills, laboratory operations and experimental design by teachers with extensive teaching experience.

New information that the conference has decided to hold the 9th Hubei University Student Chemistry Experimental Skills Competition at Wuhan Textile University in 2023 is confirmed during this competition, and we hope that undergraduate students who are interested in scientific research and innovation will be well prepared.
